High Waists and Wedge Sneakers

Cloudy skies and varied temperatures make for an interesting outfit. Within the span of two hours, I changed from shorts and a tee to an added jacket, to jeans, and then back to shorts. What can I say? It's Texas. I actually loved the way the wedge sneakers looked with the temporary jean change, but I wanted to wear shorts today. This won't be the last time you'll see the sneakers, because I am obsessed with walking around town in these. Whether I decide to do a styling post around them or an outfit post with jeans, you'll see a different way I wear them in the near future.

 

Originally, I had my eye on the Steve Madden Highlight shoes, but the studs on the Aldo pair won me over. The bag is also from Aldo, and I like that it can be worn as a normal tote or as a wing-tipped tote, depending on the zippers. I paired the shoes with my current favorite pair of shorts. I recently purchased the destroyed high-waisted cutoffs at Abercrombie and Fitch. The pocket embellishment is a nice addition to an otherwise basic pair of shorts. I kept it casual cute (the definition of my style) with a comfy tee since I just had to run a few errands before hanging out with family. The top is a burnout tee, so I kept things covered with a bralette I finally* got from Victoria's Secret.

*If you follow me on twitter, you may remember my hunt for a black bralette last weekend. I went to two different stores, only to discover they were all out of stock because there was a promotional sale on bralettes that weekend. Good, right? Wrong.
